Storage Auction Life Style Take 4

By admin on February 18, 2011

Auction

Some of the things you can encounter as a full time storage auction buyer. Many people have things that will blow your mind in storage units. Cars, trucks, airplane parts, car parts, industrial equipment ( read that as heavy as hell). There is a lot of hard work, more than most know, in this business! So check this out if you are thinking about getting the game! You will lose some money on some units, it is going to happen. I do not know of anyone that has not lost money on a storage auction unit at some point ( or if you have no ideal what the hell you are doing, weekly!) Running someone up can be nonhazardous to your back and wallet. It is not a game for the faint at heart or light of wallet!

@tmoney662 -Sure there are some people that go through the units, that has always happened! But most don’t, can’t or would be scared too, for most it is not worth a criminal record. As for me, someone offered me $400K to run drug money through my business, so no I would not. I like money, but I do not love money and will not do anything to get it. Another big reason they do not go through the units, is so many tenants wait until the 11th hour to pay up, that is like instant jail time!

Just went to my first auction, nothing too spectacular (mostly junk/flea market crap) so I did not buy anything….I just couldn’t get the vision out of my head of the storage facility owner/manager pulling all the good stuff out ahead of time. There is no way you can prove they don’t cherry-pick the units and with all of the “treasures” that you hear of people finding, it does not make sense that they don’t…. Wouldn’t you if you were them? I probably would. It just sounds too good to be true

    Hey Glendon,
Congrats on videos totally and utterly lacking in bullshit. I live in Dublin, Ireland. We don’t have storage auctions here (population too small). But we got auctions estate sales etc. Even with small pop you can make money on ebay buying from these. Once again, said it before but it bears repeating, great videos, totally without pretension, and NO BULLSHIT. Refreshing stuff.

  20. daedalx says:

yeah, I just changed my business model. No excessive buying or buying when there’s unsorted junk in the warehouse.

If I was to give advice to people just starting off, my best advice would be this. If you’re going it alone, start on smaller units. They’re great to get you prepared mentally and physically for those bigger ones that could be back breakers and motivation killers if you’re not prepared. If you already have help lined up like I did, you might still want to start smaller to medium sized. I waited 2 months before I went for my first full sized unit.

  22. Glendon007 says:

@Theredneckpicker -LOL man some folks would freak at the units I have unloaded by myself, I swear some people were on crack when they stored their stuff!

  23. Glendon007 says:

@turboman8082 Cool sounds like a smoker of a unit!
