Someone sold me a fake Pokemon card and I found out while reselling it?
Auction
So basically I was sold a fake Pokemon card a few years ago. I listed this item on ebay to sell so that I could buy my parents a Christmas present.
Someone asked me to send close up pictures of the card, and he explained that it is fake because there is spacing between the numbers. I did some research and it turns out the card really was fake.
So I removed the listing to ebay and I told the person thank you for informing me and that I will contact the original seller.
He sent a message back to me saying if I don’t give him $150 he is going to report him to the police and have me arrested for fraud.
What do I do I am scared, I never sold this guy the card and I canceled the cards auction as soon as I found out it was fake. What should I do?
Yeah, but what should I do now that he person who told me it was fake is saying pay me $150 or im calling the police?
I didn’t know it was fake and I never sold it, I just showed him pictures.
The card is worth $30 (but it’s fake, so I am just going to keep it lol)

dont worry about it. the dude sells pokemon cards. hes probaly fat and lives in his basment. dont sweat it
Don’t be scared, the guy was just bluffing as you had no knowledge of the card being fake. Furthermore, no fraud unit would investigate this issue as they have no evidence or the card.
Just ignore it. There is no way he can contact you or obtain your details (unless you have previously sold something to him before).
Write back and say something about you going to the police about him for blackmail.
Even if you were to be found it, nothing would ever come to it since it’s such a minor thing.
He can’t do anything about that it’s like selling gum at school you can’t arrest someone for that if you two are just doing non official business than he cant do anything!!! I would laugh at him and sue him if he pursues this for false accusation’s you’ll make way more money than $150.
Lol ignore that guy. you dont need to pay him, its not fraud, you only just found out. Why big deal for a card. its not money
Don’t pay him anything, and let him call the police if he wants. That way you can laugh at him when they tell him to stop wasting their time.
(not that he’ll call anyways; you don’t owe him anything and the police don’t care about a fake pokemon card).
Yep, don’t worry.
IF YOU ARE REALLY WORRIED Print out the mEssage and your ebay page of the card, so you have evidence if he DOES call the police.
I doubt he will though.
Don;t worry yourself about it, because thats the goal of the person.
