Is there a security shutdown on Dodge Caravans ?
I have a Dodge Caravan 2005 and the radio/dvd system has worked since I bought it from the auctions.
While bidding on the car I had in mind that its was stolen and was a insurance job.
There was a few things missing, I got it cheap and have been getting it back together, except for the radio.
I have tried fuses and ground wires and wiring harnesses, but cannot get power to it.
Is there a security code that would shut it down like that ?
If so, what it the process for fixing this problem?
I would be very thankful for any info on this subject, as it has me puzzled.
Thanks !!

no there is nothing that will shut it down except for the ignition switch. make sure no wires are cut from the theft. other than that you are going to need wiring diagram.
yes thare is you will need to take it to the deiler to have the reset code put in they will charge a flat rate of 35 to 80 bucks
no Chrysler’s don’t run security codes on their radios like gm and other company’s do,you might want to look at all the wiring really good since it was a theft vehicle they may have tried to take a few things out if it and cut some wires on it,i bought a truck like that ,got a real good deal but wound up having to splice a lot of wires back together on it,be sure and double check all fuses for that one also, good luck.,,PS if you,ll get a haynes manual on that one it has pretty good diagram of the wiring in it.
