Cheapskate’s Guide to Novels

By Dickson James on December 31, 2009

Less and less of us are left but those of us still remaining love our books. Too bad they are so expensive but don’t worry, there are many ways to save and still get a good read these days.

Some of us just want to collect. We won’t look at reprints, second editions nor do we care too much about paperbacks. Those that are like that may not find the best deal, but they will be happy with their hobby.

Small shops, if they still exists, will actually have the best prices sometimes. They may not have the volume for a good sticker price, but you can always negotiate with the store owner for a good deal.

There are great sales from libraries when they want to make room for new books in their building. As long as you look through them and don’t mind the quality of the book, they are great bargains.

Sometimes, discounts are the best when the book first comes out and they want to make a big splash. So waiting is not always the best way to go about it.

Library is a great way to save, so check it out before you have to go and spend all your money on books that you will never reread.

Great deals can be had for those who look in the bargain bin. Sure, some stores mark the edges of the books but not every store will do this. Just check them out and you may find the next best deal around town.

With books, shipping charges can be significant, so always order in bulk to get the free shipping discount. To not waste any money though, just queue up what you need by making a list.

Those that joined a book club always tell me how great they are. If you are looking for good deals, then give them a chance and try to join one.

Don’t always let an online price fool you. Make sure you buy from a reputable retailer because books have many different versions and while they may look the same on screen, they are not in reality.

There’s definitely many more uses of these Best Buy coupons when they are updated every week with new deals.
